Savute Safari Lodge

Chobe, Botswana

About Savute Safari Lodge

Resting along the banks of the Savute channel in the Chobe National Park, Savute Safari Lodge is set in a fabled, storied land. An unpredictable water source, one that flows and recedes without warning, the Savute Channel had, until 2009, been dry for over 30 years. Now, having flowed freely for the first time in decades, the water gives life to the Savute Marsh… until it decides to disappear again.

Out of eleven thatched chalets, two are large family bedroom chalets, each with a spacious lounge and private viewing deck of the landscape below. Dining is extraordinary, including a gigantic deck that looks over the expansive waterhole, where guests can often enjoy watching the resident elephants frolic and play.

Guests staying at Savute Safari Lodge can delight in a series of thrilling game drives into the surrounding bush. If staying during the summer months, guests may be able to witness the incredible zebra migration, with ample predators lurking close by.

With incredible service, thrilling experiences, an authentic family feel and a majestic location, Savute Safari Lodge is a fabulous choice for those wanting to explore the magnificent land of Botswana.

Why We Love Savute Safari Lodge

  • Thanks to makeshift water sources in front of the lodge, guests can enjoy amazing game viewing and photographic opportunities from either the deck in the main area or from their rooms.
  • During one of the morning or afternoon safari game drives, guests staying at Savute Safari Lodge can enjoy an excursion to Gubatsa Hills to view ancient San rock paintings.
  • Savute feels like home. From the hospitality of the staff and the rangers, to the stories shared between guests, each person met at Savute Safari Lodge will feel like a family member after just a short while.
