About La Residence

The epitome of opulence, La Residence hotel is a palatial estate in the heart of Franschhoek that embodies French grandeur at every turn. Nestled between vineyards and plum orchards, a spectacular mountain backdrop sets a dramatic scene for this chateau-style hotel.

The interiors at La Residence hotel are something to behold. With high ceilings, colossal chandeliers and ornate finishings, each space within the estate has been carefully constructed and delivers a mind-blowing experience of utter luxury.

Each of the suites have been individually designed and decorated to convey a unique theme and colour scheme. While some suites have taken inspiration from countries such as Tibet, India and Africa, others have drawn from the world of classic French luxury, seeing one suite pay homage to the French Huguenots and another include features that emulate the dazzling Hall of Mirrors at Versailles.

Dining at La Residence in Franschhoek is an extravagant affair. The dining area known as The Great Hall, adorned with classic Victorian tiles, giant fireplaces and mesmerising chandeliers, makes every meal time a theatrical display. For a change of scenery, al fresco dining is set in the delightful Persian Alley which offers beautiful views of the estate.

Why We Love La Residence

  • For those travelling with children, the Vineyard Suites at La Residence offer private, family-friendly Franschhoek accommodation. Childcare facilities are also available.
  • Each of the suites are breathtakingly beautiful, particularly the Vineyard Suite Three with its vibrant purple, pink and blue pops of colour.
  • Along with signature treatments, The Spa at La Residence offers a Pinotage Body Polish, a treatment inspired by the unique South African Pinotage grape.
