Old Mondoro

Lower Zambezi, Zambia

About Old Mondoro

Perfect for travellers who are seeking a more rustic Zambia safari lodge, Old Mondoro is a simple and understated camp set in one of the world’s most jaw-dropping locations.

Nestled on the banks of the Zambezi River amongst a grove of Acacia trees, Old Mondoro offers incredible views in all directions, allowing guests to feast on the vistas of woodland and water.

A small and intimate camp situated in the lower Zambezi National Park, Old Mondoro boasts eight chalets, one of which is a two bedroomed family room. The chalets have been built with reed and canvas, and are decorated in neutral tones to reflect the surrounding area. Each chalet includes a private viewing deck for guests to casually gaze at game lolling about the river.

While not the best option for travellers seeking lavish bush accommodation with luxury at every turn, Old Mondoro Bushcamp is an absolute treat for those looking forward to a genuine safari stay with plenty of immersive experiences in the natural environment.

Why We Love Old Mondoro

  • Remote and exclusive, Old Mondoro Bushcamp boasts one of the best locations in the Zambezi National Park. Situated right next to the river, guests can enjoy amazing game viewing all year round.
  • Bath time is an absolute treat at Old Mondoro. Each of the chalets include an enormous bathtub that looks look out over the river, letting guests enjoy a bath with a view.
  • As the waters of the Lower Zambezi National Park are free from netting, the river draws hordes of larger fish. With this, fishing enthusiasts will delight in the guided fishing excursions on the Zambezi River.
