Detailed Itinerary

Liliesleaf Farm and Museum

The tour begins with a trip to the suburb of Rivonia, to visit the Liliesleaf Farm and Museum. A site of incredible significance, Liliesleaf was used as a secret meeting site for ANC members, and too, became the site of their arrest leading to the Rivonia Trial. Enjoy a truly educational, guided tour of the preserved farmhouse and interactive museum. After Liliesleaf, enjoy a quick visit to the University of the Witwatersrand campus, followed by a short stop at the Nelson Mandela Bridge.

Newtown

Next, visit a number of attractions in Newtown including the Museum Africa and Mary Fitzgerald Square, named after South Africa’s first female trade unionist.

Constitution Hill

Finally, complete the tour by visiting Constitution Hill. Originally a fort, then a prison, today, the epic monuments on the hill are home to South Africa’s Constitutional Court.
