About Okonjima Plains Camp

Resting in the heart of Namibia’s esteemed Okonjima Nature Reserve, Okonjima Plains Camp is a wonderful safari getaway option for those who have a particular fascination for the big cat species.

Known for its beautiful landscapes and incredible nature excursions, the Okonjima bush camp offers a more raw and engaging experience than merely just witnessing the beauty of the region.

As well as being luxury accommodation, Okonjima Plains Camp is also home to the AfriCat Foundation, an organization dedicated to the long-term conservation of Namibia’s threatened animal species.

The pride of Okonjima, the AfriCat Foundation is dedicated to the conservation of endangered wildlife forms, such as cheetah, leopard, and other wild carnivores of Namibia. Guests staying at Okonjima are invited to learn more about the various projects initiated by Okonjima and AfriCat, and learn about the amazing creatures that the initiatives are preserving.

Having been built on the site of the owner’s original farmhouse, Okonjima Plains Camp honors the cattle-farming heritage by endearingly referring to the main area of the camp as the ‘Barn’. A large, family-friendly lodge, most rooms in Okonjima Plains Camp open up to uninterrupted views of the Namibian plains.
